Taylor Kitsch & Garrett Hedlund Up For Finnick Odair

By on June 1, 2012

Lionsgate might soon enough have their official Finnick Odair! After Robert Pattinson was out of the question, people have wondered if Armie Hammer, Taylor Kitsch or Garrett Hedlund would get the part. Now Hollywood Life is reporting that Armie is out of the question, which leaves Taylor of Garrett. As of now all of these are still rumors, including the so called leads for the role. Here is what they are reporting one of the many so called sources we often hear about.

“It is currently a two horse race between Garrett Hedlund and Taylor Kitsch,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com. And while yesterday reports suggest Armie Hammer was also in the running, as well as a few unknowns, our insider says Garrett and Taylor are the top two choices.

While no one has been confirmed, we have been hearing a lot of conflicting reports. Some have said that Taylor and Garrett both have no interest, while we now are seeing reports that they are close to snatching the role Taylor, Armie and Garrett have all not addressed the rumors either, which certainly is not helping. All we do know for a fact is that the role is still open and that Robert will not be in the movie. Until Lionsgate releases who gets the part, we can all read these rumors with a grain of salt. As I stated in the last report, I feel as if Armie would be the best one for the role. So yes, I am rooting for him. Only time will tell us who lands the role of Finnick in Catching Fire.

How do you feel about these rumors? Do you want any of these 3 to land the role? I know a lot of people are torn over Taylor or Garrett, while some are for Armie or someone else all together. I think this is a lot of fun to see who is for who, but in the end our opinion doesn’t really count for who lands the role or not. Francis Lawrence and Lionsgate have that job, not us. While it would be great if they heeded our ideas, I do think they will most likely discover an actor for the role. That is how they filled the other 3 big roles and I see no reason why they shouldn’t do that now either. It worked out well and helped make 3 stars a household name now and we could all get behind that, if they choose that path.
