Pixar Releases 4 Trailers & Stills from Monsters University
Disney and Pixar have finally released a trailer (in 4 versions) of the Monster Inc sequel, Monsters University. They decided to release four slightly different versions of the trailer for the fans to vote for their favorite one from the movie’s official Facebook page. The movie will be about how James P. Sullivan (aka: Sully) and Mike Wazowski met in college, only to find themselves disliking each other at first. They quickly learn that they do have much more in common than they realize and soon enough became the closest of buds that we saw the original one. The movie will open on June 21, 2013. You will find 4 new stills and all four trailers down at the bottom of this post. As for the reason why for 4 trailers, Dan Scanlon who is the director for the movie shared this.
Billy Crystal’s an amazing comedic actor, He gave us so much fun material, we decided to cut four slightly different versions of the trailer. We are so happy to have him back as Mike!
I am glad that we get to see that the sequel has finally happened. I heard about the sequel for years and I sort of forgot about it since it has been around 10 years since the first one came out. I mean, lets be honest here-Disney did let this one slip way behind. Most of the kids who loved the original will have moved on and I am not sure if this one will have the same level of fan fare as the original. It certainly is a risk and I hope it does pay off since it sounds nothing short of delightful. However, with that being said-they did drop the ball on this one.
Are you excited to see this movie? I am since it sounds like it will be a hoot to watch. But I do wonder how they will market it? I think that will be their biggest issue that they will face as June 2013 approaches. I mean, it isn’t a secret over the ten years between the two actors have worked together so I am very curious to see how Pixar and Disney plan to execute this movie next year, while the rest of us can relax and enjoy these trailers.
