New Mattel Toy Line Inspired by Disney/Pixar’s Brave

Brave is one of the movies we are most looking forward to as a family as Merida is going to be one heck of a character. When you bring together one of the best animation studios, you want to make sure you bring a top toy company to produce the toys, and that has been accomplished with Mattel introducing a toy line inspired by Disney/Pixar’s Brave. We were lucky enough to receive the Disney/Pixar Brave Gem Styling Merida Doll and Disney/Pixar Brave Merida and Angus Doll Set. My daughter is in love already, and the way she says Merida is so cute!

With the Merida and Angus Doll set, Merida is able to ride the horse (her legs articulate to allow her to ride) and all sorts of fun quests can be had with Merida and her horse. The thing that really stood out on both sets of dolls was the hair. Merida is known for her red curly hair and Mattel has made it a point to highlight that extremely well with their construction. I also liked the way that they were able to replicate the shape of Merida’s face which is recognizable right away for me. The Gem Styling Merida Doll has the bow and arrow set as Merida is a stellar archer, and her cape is reversible. You can also use the included gems to attach to her outfit in any pattern you like, and they can even stay in her hair.

Overall, the dolls are going to be a superb addition for the children after they get to see the Brave movie and Mattel puts out two more high quality licensed products. For movies like this you really need to nail the characters and Mattel has suceeded. Just don’t be surprised if you girls end up wanting their own horse and archery set.
