Liam Payne Wanted Different Name for One Direction

One Direction is known for their talent and clever name, but did you know that not all the members wanted their current name? Zayn Malik shared that Liam Payne came up with a name that was not popular among rest of the boys. Liam insisted on the name USP (Unique Selling Point). The boys quickly shot it down and Harry came up with the name that they use today. As for what Zayn all had to say about Liam’s idea and to find out what Louis all had to say about it as a whole, here are the comments.

That is the WORST! Although to be fair, you have to be brave even to mention it in the first place.

I am glad that they shot down that name. I don’t know if they could ever get by with it. However, it is fun to hear that they had a hard time coming to a conclusion on the name. I mean, it makes sense since the fans all figured that they were great from the start. But that does not mean they could have not have had a few issues. They are human and when you put a group of different people together, things are bound to get rough at times. The important thing is that they were able to get past that and find a name that they could agree on. I bet now Liam is glad that they went with One Direction and not USP.

How do you like Liam’s idea? Is One Direction a better name? I think that it is and while USP isn’t a bad idea, it was not the best name for them. Their current name is a much better choice that will hopefully work for them years to come. However, we will have to wait and see about that!
