Jemima West To Star In Mortal Instruments

Mortal Instruments, a hit book series by Cassandra Clare, is about to be adapted into a movie and we just found out that Jemima West landed a key role in the film adaption. Clare will play the character Isabelle Lightwood, a shadowhunter. She’ll join castmates Lily Collins and Jaime Campbell Bower.

The news initially reported that West scored the role but it was the author of the series that spilled the beans on her blog as to which character West was playing.

Are you a fan of the Mortal Instruments series? Are you happy with the casting choices so far? I imagine that’s got to be one of the hardest parts of adapting a book into a film and that’s finding the right character. You want actors that not only look like the characters they portray, but someone that can easily bring that character to life. It’s easy to just name actors as ideal options but it takes a lot more to find the right people to play the role. I wonder how long it’s going to take to find the full cast for the move?
