Carly Rae Jepsen Capital Summertime Ball Surprise

Carly Rae Jepsen sang her hit single “Call Me Maybe” at the 1021 Capital FM Summertime Ball, along with Justin Bieber. While that was a huge highlight for the former Canadian Idol star, her co-manager Justin joined her on stage in the middle of the performance. He danced along and helped turn the live show into a duet, much to the surprise of everyone including Carly! As a reminder, Carly will be joining Justin on tour starting this fall as his opening act on this leg. As for Carly’s reaction afterwards, this is what she posted on Twitter.

It certainly sounds like she enjoyed herself. Then again, who does not want Bieber to join them on stage? Not many and I would assume most would love for a chance to sing a song with him. I suppose it could be a taste of what we can expect when the duo goes on the road! However, it does seem like it could be a great rumor starter if they are not careful and mindful of their current relationships. That would not be a good outcome and I am sure they are very aware of that right now.

How do you feel about the duet? Should Justin have allowed Carly to have her own moment and really shine without his help? I think that could have been more helpful for her in the long run, but he was only trying to help her in a way that he thought was best. Hopefully when they go on tour this won’t be the case for the whole tour, since she will need time to allow the fans to know who she is without him. Let her build a following on her own and offer support, but no hand holding should be required for Carly at this stage.
