Taylor Swift Reaches Out To Family of Dead Marine
Taylor Swift has always been known to have a good heart and generous spirit. The country music star reached out to a family of a dead Marine by sending them flowers and a personal note.
Sgt. Wade Wilson passed away while fighting in Afghanistan this month, and Wilson’s friend, Corporal Josh Marreel, recorded a YouTube video to ask Swift to honor his pal. In the video Mareel reaches out to Taylor Swift saying that he knows she doesn’t know him but the video was about his good buddy Sgt. Wade D. Wilson, who was killed in action (on) Friday, May 11, 2012 in Afghanistan. Mareel even mentioned that Wilson slept with a post of her under his pillow each night. The singer has now offered to wear Wilson’s army dog tags in her next video and sent a bunch of flowers to his grieving family, according to TV station KBTX. Along with the flowers, Swift sent a note reading, “Wade, thanks for loving my music. I won’t forget it and I will never forget you. All my love, Taylor Swift.”
Taylor was also honored recently at the 2012 Billboards Music Awards with the Woman of the Year award. She said “I’m really excited about being honored as Woman of the Year. That’s a really nice thing they’re doing. That’s super nice…I’m just really blown away and on cloud nine.”
