Liam Hemsworth Talks About Gary Ross’s Departure From Hunger Games Saga

By on May 7, 2012

Everyone’s talking about Gary Ross’s departure from The Hunger Games saga! Ross, who was the director for the first movie garnered a lot of criticism for his take on the story yet many people are wondering what really went down.

What we want to know is what the movie’s stars think of all this. Here is what Liam Hemsworth had to say:

I’m really sad to see that Gary’s not going to be part of the second one. He did such an amazing job on the first.

The good news to the end of the story? Lionsgate nabbed renowned director Francis Lawrence(the director behind Water for Elephants an I Am Legend) for next film Catching Fire. Even though Hemsworth is a little sad by Gary’s departure he’s still excited to see what the new director will do next. Here is what he recently told E! News:

The last I heard the new director had just come on, so that’s really cool. I’m excited about that. I think we shoot the last few months of this year. “I think that there’s still so many people a part of it that want the film to be great and care about it so much that they’re not going to bring the wrong person on.”

It sounds like we can expect some great things from Catching Fire! I loved the first movie(and the work of Gary Ross) but I really can’t wait to see what’s next this movie and what happens next.
