Lego Lord of the Rings Video Game Is Planned

By on May 13, 2012

Lego and WB are confirming an upcoming video game for the Lord of the Rings LEGO game set. The video game has no official release date, but the new playsets of the characters are slated for a summer release. Until then, we will have to wait for more info to come out about the video game and actual play sets. This is also not the first time that Lego has teamed up with Traveller’s Tales to launch video games based off of Lego game sets, so the news was expected.

I have to say this should make a lot of people happy. The franchise always had a huge fan base and this will allow them to introduce the series to a whole new group of people. I can also see the toy sets and video game becoming collector’s items for the super fans. However, I will say that I do expect a TV series will be the next step for the product franchise. With the craze over the play sets and video game, they would be crazy not to launch a new TV series based off it. It has happened before, so why should it not happen for this line next?

How do you feel about this news? Are you excited? I think a lot of people will be and most of all, this holiday season will see a good turn out for these items. That is just how huge this movie franchise was and I am sure the play set/video game combo will do just as well. It will please many and could not come out at a better time than now since The Hobbit comes out at the end of this year. So it looks like it could help boost those sales for it and the movie could return the favor.

So looking forward to this game. Will they do individual games for each of the movies / books in the trilogy, or will they have one for the entire trilogy?

I don’t know yet, but that is a good question to ask. I would like to think that they will, though.
