Justin Bieber & Usher Share Billboard Special Edition Cover
It’s a big year for Justin Bieber and his friend, Usher. Both of them have new albums and they recorded duets with each other. It has finally come full circle for them and Billboard magazine wanted to honor them for it. They are on the cover of the special Billboard Music Awards issue, which also features Nelly Furtado and Jordin Sparks. All 4 stars were asked to talk about their favorite charities and that allowed them to plug in a contest for fans to help raise $20,000 for one of the charities. One lucky fan could win a trip to see the May 20th award show live. Justin’s charities were the ones picked for the $20,000. Pencils of Promise and Make A Wish will split the $20,000. You can hear what all Justin all had to say in the video down at the bottom of this post.
I am glad that they are using this as a platform to support good causes. It is a much needed thing and the fact that they chose to use it makes it all worth the wait. I love the fact that Usher and Justin both are very attached to charities and love to share their passion for the less fortunate. It just makes it that much easier to like them or at least that is how I feel about them.
Do you support their charities or not? I like the concept but I do wonder how involved they were with the funding. That would be something that could help them gain even that more respect by a lot more people. All the awards they can win does not mean they will always be respected for their charity efforts. I think they were more vocal about how the funding works, then more people would not mind offering more support.
