Hasbro Confirms One Direction Dolls & Video Game

By on May 15, 2012

One Direction has a huge following for their catchy tunes and their time on the UK X-Factor. That caught Hasbro’s attention and they decided to launch a line of dolls based on the five guys. Each guy will have his own doll that will stand at 12”. The line is expected to come out in time for the holidays and will also feature video games based off the band. As for the doll line, it isn’t the first time a popular pop act lands a similar deal. Everyone from Britney Spears to Justin Bieber have all inspired toy makers to create dolls that look like them. So it is just one more step in their fame conquest.

To be honest, I am surprised that they haven’t launched them already. I would have thought with all of the popularity that they have now; they would have released it by now. Their summer tour sold out, causing them to book the 2013 one so early, which are huge signs based on the popularity. While I do agree with them waiting until the holiday season to release the dolls, I have to say I do wish that we could know more about them. I suppose as fall approaches, we will then learn more about it.

How do you know feel about this news? Are you excited about the dolls? I am and I am sure that I am not the only one. I just hope that they do give them actual hair and a not a plastic hairdo. I think those take away from the dolls as a whole. Or at least that is how I always felt about those kinds of dolls. I will also add that I am sure the video game(s) will do well in terms of sales, so Hasbro has a good shot at having an amazing holiday season ahead of them.
