Elizabeth Banks Looks Forward To Catching Fire with Francis Lawrence
Elizabeth Banks was a hit in the movie The Hunger Games and she has Gary Ross to thank for that. So when the word came out that Francis Lawrence was going to direct Catching Fire, many wondered about the cast and their feelings. While some have said that they were sad to see Gary go, Elizabeth is staying positive with the change. She talked to MTV about how she is excited to get back to work and see where Francis does with the movie. You will find the interview down below.
I am glad to see that Elizabeth is excited for the change however, I am not sure how the sequel will turn out. I do hope that he keeps it along some of the same lines that the first one was. That way they can flow together and show that they are part of one franchise. That is key I think to its success, even Twilight< Saga has been able to do that. If they can at least keep things pulled together enough for us all to see that it comes from one story, they will be sitting pretty.
Will you miss Gary? I will, but I am going to try to be as excited about it as Elizabeth is. She seems to look forward to it and so should all of us. He was chosen for a reason and we should trust Lionsgate. I do wish we knew more why Gary left. Yes, he did claim that he did not have time for it-but I expect there was some pressure on Lionsgate to let him go. A lot of people complained about the movie being vastly different from the book, so I suppose we can say that had a bigger influence on it all.
