Should These Celebrity Siblings Snag A Role In Catching Fire?

After a lengthy several months of anticipating The Hunger Games over at Optionated, we were finally awarded with the film back in March. Some fans liked it, and some fans thought it was lacking.  But now that it has arrived, we can look forward to the sequel hitting the big screen, Catching Fire.

Catching Fire isn’t scheduled for release till November 22, 2013, but with the director, Gary Ross, pulling out at the last second; the film could possibly be delayed. Francis Lawrence has signed on to direct the sequel and word is they need to start ASAP to stay on schedule.

Yet, they haven’t even revealed the cast for the upcoming adaptations. We have proposed several different actresses to play the key role of Johanna, such as Nina Dobrev, Demi Lovato, and Selena Gomez. But there are some smaller roles that will need to be filled.

It is not secret that the actor who plays Gale Hawthorne, is a celebrity sibling. Liam Hemsworth is the younger brother of Thor star Chris Hemsworth. Despite being a celebrity sibling, Liam has made an impact on The Hunger Games adaptations as Gale.

So, should these often over looked celebrity siblings snag a role in Catching Fire?

Kylie Jenner:

Kylie is the youngest of the Kardashian/Jenner family. She is 14 years old. However, with FIVE celebrity siblings ahead of her, she is often overlooked. While she is making a name for herself within the modeling and spokesperson world, it wouldn’t be surprising if the acting bug hit her. Gaining a role in Catching Fire, even a small one would definitely put her apart from the rest of her family. Especially if she could prove she had real acting chops.

Damon’s Thoughts – She doesn’t have any real acting under her belt so it would have to be a small role for her I think, but it would be something to really break her out into the real world. 

Elizabeth Olsen:

Probably the most well known on this list, at least for her actually acting career. She is the younger sister of famous twin actresses Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. Considering she had to spent 20-ish years of her life known as the “other Olsen girl” I don’t blame her for branching out. And frankly, after seeing her performance in Silent House, I already think she has more acting ability and talent than her sisters. Personally, I think if she could snag the role of Annie Cresta, who appears briefly in Catching Fire, and then a semi-major role in Mockingjay, who acting career would take off. People could see her talent and solidify her career separate of her sisters.

Damon’s Thoughts – Wow, Annie would be a perfect role for her, I am a huge Olsen family acting fan in general so I think she snag something in Catching Fire like Annie.  We probably could do a role on who should take Annie.

Dave Franco:

Younger brother of James Franco, but steadily getting out from under his shadow. He appeared in the series “Scrubs” but more recently appeared in the comedy 21 Jumpstreet. While he is NOT what I pictured for the role of Finnick Odair, he could play the part. If he got the role of Finnick or even a smaller role, his status as an actor would be propelled miles ahead.

Damon’s Thoughts – I dug him in Scrubs (even though that season wasn’t a real Scrubs Season) and I agree he needs a decent role in something hot, and this would do it.

Stella Hudgens:

She is attempting, without the help of her big sister Vanessa Hudgens, to become an actress. Unfortunately, after ten years of working as an actress, her biggest role has been on the series, “According to Jim”. Stella may have the ability to be a great actress and just no one has had a chance to see it. Even if she got a tiny role in Catching Fire as a tribute or something else, it would give people to opportunity to see her.

Damon’s Thoughts – I really don’t know much about Stella, so Im going to pass on commenting here.

Noah Cyrus:

The twelve-year-old sister to incredibly famous singer/actress Miley Cyrus. Has begun making a name for herself, though not always in a positive way. After her various YouTube postings, it seems she will follows in her sister’s footsteps, but not in a good way. While Miley has already said she wouldn’t appear in a film with her boyfriend again (Liam Hemsworth), Miley could use her influence to get young Noah a small role in the film. I have a feeling if she gets one good role under her belt she could step out from under her sister’s shadow and make a name for herself. (Whether she is a good actress or not, I can’t say).

Damon’s Thoughts – I think Noah Cyrus would be a great choice, but I don’t know if she would do it because of Liam as well.  I agree that she does need a starting point though and this would be a great way to make a splash with a small role.  I dig Noah and think she is going to turn into something special like Miley.

   Not Kylie Jenner or Noah Cyrus no way ewww they’ll ruin the movie same with Demi Lovato

   Actually, I think Kylie Jenner would be great! She actually has done some acting before, she did a commercial and acting host for Sears. She was actually really good-think she would be good.

   I don’t like any of theses choices but Dave Franco. Please please don’t put Noah Cyrus or Stella Hudgens in it. Kylie and Elizabeth are okay choices but Dave Franco was the best.
