Selena Gomez Releases Night Version of Hit the Lights Video

Despite the Selena Gomez music “hiatus”, she has filmed a special Vevo concert this past week and debuted a new music video of “Hit the Lights” during the concert. It was dubbed as the nighttime edition and shows Selena dancing in a club. They also threw in some scenes from the original video for the song. The music video can be found down below, if you wish to see how it differs from the first and see if you approve or not. As for the VEVO Go Show, it is slated to premiere in May!

I have to say that I feel like this video shows a more mature side of her. I think that with the club scenes it only further drives the point that she is no longer a Disney star. I do like how she waited to release it; it really does let it shine and not be as shocking as if it came out last year. Plus it might give her a second chance to climb the charts again with this song. I am sure her label and herself would love to see a second round of love for it.

Do you like the music video? Is it better than the first one or not? I think this one could possibly do better, but at the same time it does put her more in the top 40 arena. I am glad that she is slowly crossing over from her past to the future of her career. She is giving her fans time to catch up and is not rushing the process. I do hope we can expect to see more of Selena Gomez doing this with her next album, but at the same time, I do hope she can try her hand at more trying music to see where she can go with it.
