Kristen Stewart To Bring Robert Pattinson As Date At Cannes

Robert Pattinson will be Kristen Stewart’s date for the Cannes Film Festival premiere of her movie On The Road. Both are attending the festival to promote their own movies, including his own called Cosmopolis. No word on if she will be his date for his movie yet. We also hear that her mother will attend at least her premiere as well, making some think she will be a “chaperone” for the event. However, that is a silly concept when you consider both are full legal adults.

I am pleased to see that they have sort taken their relationship a tiny bit more seriously. It seems like they might be finally letting the world know that they are indeed a real couple. They have been together for so long and they really have no reason to hide it. However, I do want to say that I respect the fact that they are not talking about it. I think more people should follow that since it could be what is helping to keep it going so strong. I am sure that they don’t want all of their business known out there and this is one way to help them stay a tiny bit normal.

Are you glad that they will be attending Cannes? I always felt as if Cannes was a big deal, so yes I am pleased. I think it proves that they have star power. Hopefully they can keep this career path going on and prove that they are much more than vampires on the screen. Maybe they can even win Oscar awards in the future, even though that is a long shot for now it seems. But at least Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson are doing more than just indie films. That is a huge step for them in keeping their names in the headlines.

   The reason that Kristen’s mom is attending as “chaperone” is because both Kristen and Rob have very specific clauses in their Twilight contracts that state that they can not be seen together or walk a red carpet together except only at Twilight Franchise authorized functions until the franchise has run to it’s completion. So for them to be seen together in Cannes, they would need a chaperone to not violate their contracts or they could see each other the whole time they were there.

   That is some interesting info, thanks for shedding light on that! I doubted that she was there for a reason to monitor the 2, now we know that is not the case at all.
