McDonald’s Will Stop Selling $1 Fries and Drinks On Their Menu

By on March 12, 2012

McDonald’s restaurants are changing its “so called” value options”. They plan on not selling its small fries and small drinks for a $1.00 anymore. McDonald’s is offering cookies and ice cream cones instead. On March 26, new “Extra Value Menu” will be offered. The food is the same and the prices are the same as before. In the “Extra Value Menu” selection, the word snack comes up often. It is a psychological trick to make customers think snacks are more fun and affordable than a real meal. The idea being sold, is the snacks have less calories and are healthier.

McDonald’s has debuted a national campaign that focuses on nutrition. McDonald’s wants to restore its Happy Meal to good repute. In the last few years, the Happy Meal has been portrayed as food that makes children obese. McDonalds has cut back on the advertising spent on Happy Meals.

I suspect the there is something else behind the bigger part of McDonalds changing its $1 menu- they might want to remove cheap fries and soda on the menu to please health critics. It also could be in part because McDonalds isn’t selling as much as it once did. Too bad, McDonalds thinks people are stupid and useful idiots that don’t see through their strategy of spend more.
