By on March 15, 2012

Justin Bieber is joining a growing crowd of celebrities to show his support for the movie Bully.  The 18 year old singer recently saw the documentary and tweeted about the experience to his 18 million followers.

He took to Twitter saying, “Just watched the #BULLY movie. Really intense. really powerful. we need to stand up for eachother.”  The pop singer is joining the likes of Demi Lovato who just yesterday went to Twitter to show her support for the film and draw awareness to a young Michigan girl Katy Butler who is petitioning to change the MPAA rating from a R to a PG-13 so more teens will be able to watch it.  Katy has stood up for the film as she has been bullied for several years.  Ellen DeGeneres even went on her own talk show to raise awareness and draw attention to a film that many should see.  The documentary focuses on bullying in U.S. schools and follows the lives of five students who face bullying on a daily basis.

The film is set to release on March 9, 2022 and has gained a PG-13 rating in Canada.  Meanwhile, the petition has gained nearly 300,000 signatures, as well as the support of 26 Congress members.  What do you think of Justin joining the cause?
