Taylor Swift Takes Mean Live at 2012 Grammy Awards
Taylor Swift sang her hit song “Mean” at the 2012 Grammy Awards. She was up for 3 awards and took home 2 of them. Not bad for the country crooner who took the performance a couple notches down. She brought out some country charm to sooth her fans and a sad audience after a legends death. As a whole, you can see that she loves her low-key country persona. You will find the video of her performance located at the bottom of this post.
I am pleased to see that Taylor had a lot of fun during her performance. I think that is key in making a good performance stand out. I also like how she played it down and made it one of the few that we can all remember. It truly stood out from some of the other typical performances we have seen. It certainly is better than some of the other ones!
Did you enjoy Taylor’s performance or not? I found it charming and very her at the same time. We have seen her so many times do a high glam performance, so to take it slow and do a more down to earth one was a welcomed change. It certainly gave us a nice break from the night’s sad undertone. I have a feeling that this performance could end up being a highlight for her.

Loved that she was stickin’ it to those who are so critical and judgemental. Singing live is hard, one performance years ago shouldnt determine her whole career. I loved that she performed so wonderfully and you could see in her face she meant every word.

You know, I was never a Taylor Swift fan until her Grammy performance of “Mean.” This genre of down-home bluegrass is really her forte; she has never sounded better. However, she does need to drop the middle-school themes and move onward, which I know she will.

I thought she was singing about Kanye West.
I love her innocent style, she is refreshing and talented. Keep on doing what you are doing Taylor!

One of the few exciting videos out there. And certainly does Country Music proud.. I find it difficult, as a Catholic Pasto, r to get any home work done for having to watch it just ” one more time”. I hear many sad tales simiar to Taylor’s “Mean’ story. It thrills me to no end to watch her rise above it and make that experience truly a sweet glass of lemonade from a sour lemon. It is what it is all about. Thank you ma’am. May I have another?
