Taylor Kitsch Dishes on John Carter
Taylor Kitsch from John Carter recently gave an interview about his big movie. He talks about his role, the director and the movie in general. You will find the interesting interview down below if you are curious to see what he all had to say about his big movie. It opens nationwide on March 9th, if you are curious to see the movie once it does come out.
Disney has certainly made a big to do about space themed movies. It isn’t a bad concept, but this is their second Mars based movie from the last 2 years so I am wondering what their train of thought is here, but they seem to hold out on hope for it. I hope that it does well for them, but I do have my doubts since their last Mars based movie did not do good as all. Let us hope that this can save Disney’s sci-fi department at the very least.
Do you support the movie? I suppose that I do, but I am tired of the whole sci-fi kick. I have never been much a fan of it and I think that it is overdone. At least they could make an interesting sci-fi movie, but that could be just my own opinion. I know a lot of people do love sci-fi, so it does have a good shot finding success. I guess sonly time will tell us.

Comparing this movie to Disney’s last Mars film shows a lack of understanding of this film and its source material. The reason that you feel oversaturated by sci-fi films today is a direct result of the popularity of the genre inspired largely in part by the John Carter story, written 100 years ago.

Frank is exactly right. Burroughs wrote these books beginning in 1911. Over 100 years ago. My husband has been a collector since his youth and has first editions of most of Burroughs works. We are beyond excited and look forward to the first in the Mars series (hopefully!).
