Stephenie Meyer Clears Up New Twilight Movie Rumors

Stephenie Meyer has dealt with rumors before, but this time she has come out to clear the air about the Summit Entertainment and Lionsgate merger. Lionsgate has expressed their desire to stretch out the Twilight Saga, which many of the fans are against. Even Robert Pattison seems to not be eager at all for the idea. Since rumors of a TV series or another movie have become rampant, she has chosen to come out and issue a statement (which is at the bottom).

Hey all,

Just wanted to clear up a little rumor making the rounds. I have absolutely no issues with anyone at Lionsgate. Far from being a negative thing, it’s actually a very nice feeling to know that both Lionsgate and Summit would like to make another Twilight movie if I were ever to write another Twilight book. So, thanks for the support, Lionsgate and Summit. I look forward to working for the first time with new friends at Lionsgate and working again with my old friends at Summit!

It was a nice comment, but she didn’t deny the desire for it to expand. I have no doubt that she does have more book plans and will hopefully finish Midnight Sun at some point. I am sure she wants to follow JK Rowling’s footsteps and that is understandable. But I also realize that she is her own person and I am not sure what her next project will be. Either way, it is nice to see that she might also be open to expanding the story even further.

How do you feel about the news? I doubt it will squash rumors, in fact it could cause a few. It seems like they could say that she has hinted at a future book or not. It seems like she is very open to the possibility and that makes me happy. I would love to see more from her in the future or at the very least more mature novel.

   I think Stephanie is a great person, and can go even further with the Twilight series. However, I would not enjoy a Television series. I believe that if the Twilight Saga became a television series, it wouldn’t have the same effect.

   I would enjoy Stephanie finishing Midnight Sun, because Edwards point of view is 10x better than Bella’s. I’m not saying that I did not enjoy Bella’s point of view, I just think Edward is more detailed. With Edward, you never know what to expect! He is always paying more attention. You can get I on the “family drama” and see just how much Edward really loves Bella. You can notice how hard it is for him when he’s trying to touch her, just not to break her. In all I believe a sixth movie would be great! And I’m all for Stephanie finishing the Midnight Sun series.
