Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato Claim Spots On 2011′s Billboard Best Selling Album Chart

Feb - 06 2012 | Anna Peel | 6 comments

Last year, a few of Disney’s biggest stars managed to climb up their way on the Billboard best selling album chart. According to Disney Info Net, this included music from Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, and Lemonade Mouth. You can check out the stats below:

43 – 536,000 – WHEN THE SUN GOES DOWN – Selena Gomez & the Scene

68 – 379,000 – LEMONADE MOUTH – Soundtrack

141 – 245,000 – UNBROKEN – Demi Lovato

144 – 241,000 – A YEAR WITHOUT RAIN – Selena Gomez & the Scene

These numbers should come as no surprised as we already know that teen queens Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato have an enormous amount of talent not to mention impressive fanbases. The made-for-tv Disney Channel movie Lemonade Mouth also inspired young people everywhere with their positive attitudes and upbeat catchy music. I don’t know if their will be a sequel to the movie but I know that Demi and Selena are holding on tight with their tours and other projects, so I’m positive that they will continue to climb up the Billboard charts throughout the year of 2012. Have you purchased any of the four albums mentioned above? Do you think they deserve their spots on the chart or do you think they should be up higher? Let us know what you think!

  1. Hi guys,

Just to let you know. There is a confirmed sequel to Lemonade Mouth. We are not sure when it will go into production though. Both Adam Hicks and Bridgit Mendler have confirmed this so we pretty much know that it is a fact,

  2. Jasmeet says:

This is how impressive Lovato’s fan base is…….

  3. Doug says:

In my humble opinion ” Unbroken” is the most underrated album of all time.

  4. Kevin says:

There are several angles of the video from the Chile hotel…….but none rips the heart strings like listening to that girl scream “Demi I Love You” ……..dang you Lovatics take this stuff serious!

  5. Kerrie says:

The sad part is Lovato has this legion of fans , but the record sales stops with them. I place all the blame of “Unbroken” sales on Hollywood Records. I live in Indiana and last week the retired race car driver Richard Petty came to speak at a convention. 250 people lined up in freezing weather to get in to see him. Lovato’s fans remind me of Mr. The Kings fans loyal to the absolute core.

  6. Tonya says:

I agree with Doug — If you start the album ” Unbroken ” at song five skip the first four. From that point on I challenge anyone to show me a better album. By the way the above video in Chile made me cry for the girl screaming for Demi and for Demi.
