Robert Pattinson Calls Himself Too Old For Twilight? Would Kristen Stewart Come Back?

Robert Pattinson recently stated a strange statement about his age and the role as Edward Cullen. When asked if Stephenie Meyer was to write more Twilight books, would he be willing to reprise his role if it is turned into a new movie. He stated that it would be strange, but he would be too old to player the always youthful vampire. He even went as far to say that at 25 years of age is too old for the role now. Here is his whole quote about the question.

I’d be curious what Stephenie would write, but I just think I’d probably be too old. I’m already too old.

I have to say that I don’t think he is too old for the role. Many teenage roles in the 90s were played by actors and actresses in the mid to late 20s. That just used to be normal for TV and movie roles back then. So I am not sure why he has thinks that being 25 rules out being a youthful vampire. It just seems like a shame that he would believe his age limits his choices now. Then again, maybe this is his polite way of saying no thanks.

Do you agree that 25 and above is too old for playing teens? I used to, but now I can see why they do that. People who are younger tend to look younger and it wouldn’t be believable for a 14 year old to play someone their own age. However, I can see how some might want to take on more mature roles. I wonder if Kristen Stewart feels the same.

   In no way was his comment strange. Clearly you know nothing about Twilight. Yes, older actors have played teens for generations, but Robert Pattinson isn’t playing a teen, he’s playing an unaging vampire. He’s aged in every movie so far. He happens to be a mortal playing an immortal… So this is normal. He is right in saying he’d be far too old to play Edward. He looked like a man in the last movie, and he was supposed to be the same young faced, frozen 17 year old that he played in the first installment of the Twilight saga. Although, I have to add that I highly doubt any of his fans would care. Personally, I don’t. But when watching the Twilight movies back to back, it becomes obvious how much he’s aged and changed.

   I personally don’t think he is too old.,I think he looks GREAT in every movie., they all look different in the movies., they changed with what happened to them in each one, but it was always for the better of the movies….All the Cullens and Jacob too.
   I seriously want and hope Rob will continue should they make more movies.., same with the rest of the cast…esp. Kristen….but that’s because I wouldn’t want Twilight to continue without Robert or Kristen. They worked so hard and put so much of themselves into this SAGA that I would hate to see that ruined by continuing it without the ORIGINAL CAST!
   When they make remakes of any movie, they always “suck” and aren’t as good as the original casts and original movies….and don’t do as good without original cast….
   If they aren’t ALL on board then it shouldn’t continue. I don’t want them just killing of Edward and Bella and the rest of the Cullens just because they may look a tad bit older. They deserve to continue in the Saga as much as Renesmee and Jacob do. It has nothing to do with how old they are in real life….it has all to do with the story and love story between Edward and Bella. If Robert and Kristen don’t return. I won’t watch it.

   All I want to say is that Robert and Kristen are the main characters of the movie and I personally would hate to see Robert go cause I think he is the perfect person for the part and when I watch the movies i always have to watch them over and over again. To be honest Robert is my fav character in the movie and fav actor in real life he’s hot! And not only is he hot but polite and respectful… I would hate to see him leave the cast because he’s the best…also I honestly don’t think that his fans (me) would care if he looked older we love him for who he is and not for his age! Maybe that is his way of saying no thanks but it would be hard to watch the rest of the sagas without him:(…. I gotta say I love u Robert pattinson!!!!!! Pleeeeez stay in twilight we all love u:)

   It wouldn’t be the same if Robert and kristen won’t be in a new twilight movie, they are the main characters…if they were to make a new movie I believe everyone would want to see them together no matter the age, it’s just their chemistry alone makes you want to see more of them, they are just so perfect together and no one can replace them….I would love to see more twilight with them in it.
