Kristen Stewart Teams Up For Some Custom Kicks

Kristen Stewart is known for her rocker chic style, so it is no surprise that she is working with Vans. She is teaming with them and a few other celebrities like Rachel Bilson to help launch a design your own Vans contest. Kristen, along with the other Vans celebrities, got the chance to design their own custom pair of Vans. It is part of Vans’ Custom Culture campaign, which aims to inspire kids to design their own. Art teachers can enter their school in and if they are one of the first thousand who enter, they will get 4 pairs to customize. The submission will need to be sent in in March, from which 10 to 50 schools from each region will be picked. Then fans can vote on their favorites, which the top 5 will be picked from. They went them fly out to L.A. for the finale show down. One winning school will get $50,000 for their school art program. You will find a video about it for info down below.

This is such exciting news for some kids! I am sure that some of the kids and parents will be eager for their schools to win. I know a lot of the art programs are hurting across the nation, so many could use this. I have a feeling that their competition will be steep. I know that I would have a hard time since nobody wants to sentence a school without money for their arts program.

Do you think a lot of schools should enter? I do and maybe it would send a message. I think most schools should be able to win at least some money. Otherwise, it is too steep of a competition. How will anybody be able to deny a school the right to have an arts program? I know that I would not be able to do that and I am sure that I am not the only one who feels that way either.
