Justin Bieber Drops Some Phone Knowledge So Listen Up

By on February 27, 2012

Justin Bieber is using his star status to bring to light a very important issue – texting and driving.

The Baby singer was in Georgia recently to film a Public Service Announcement (PSA) on behalf of PhoneGuard an app that makes it impossible to text and drive simultaneously.  PhoneGuard app allows you to find your phone when you need it and will lock up your phone when you begin to drive over 10 miles per hour making sure you can’t text while driving.  The PSA which you can view below, has a group of young teenage girls barreling down a wet road and nearly runs over Justin Bieber walking down the road because they were too busy typing away on their phones.  Justin comes alongside the car with his umbrella unscathed  and after the usual screeching abates he delivers a special responsible message.

This is a message close to Bieber’s heart as he sat down with the Brown family who lost their daughter to a text message related car accident recently.  Texting and driving has caused serious accidents, and many states have made the practice illegal. Hopefully his fan base will take notice and think twice about texting behind the wheel.  What do you think of the PSA?
