ToyWiz – The Hunger Games Actions Figures On Pre-Sale Now

WizKids may have just announced their toy line based off of The Hunger Games, but now ToyWiz has placed their upcoming set for pre-order. ToyWiz will release three action figures (Peeta, Gale and Katniss). The 3 action figures are going for $17.99 each, and for the whole set $49.99. They won’t come out until April, which will be a month after the March 23rd release of the actual movie. No photos of the actual products have been released yet, but here is what they had to say about the action figures.

Details (Description): The New York Times-bestselling Hunger Games novels by Suzanne Collins become one of 2012′s most anticipated movies! Rebel against the Capitol with these highly detailed poseable action figures of Katniss, Peeta, and Gale. Each figure stands roughly 6 3/4″ tall and comes with their own character specific accessories. Clamshell packaging.

I am not surprised that companies are jumping on board with the movie. We all know that they are hoping to cash in with such a big launch like this one. I wonder how many more companies will jump at a chance like this one? It seems like stores will be overloaded with items based off the movie before long. I am not sure if we should be excited or sad about it. Why milk a movie that might be so over hyped by the time it actually is released?

Are you excited for the action figures? It is a nice touch, but I feel like they will have way too many models before long of them. I do expect Mattel will market a set dolls from it and I wonder if Legos will be next? It seems like this moving is being over processed by those companies wanting a slice of the pie. I can see having one official line, but two toy based lines? No thanks.

    Hi Sarah! I work for ToyWiz.com and saw this article! I’m glad you posted it, we’ve had a great response already to the upcoming figures, even though we don’t have pictures of them yet! As for additional companies making figures and releases, I’ve not yet heard of others in the works. I can’t say for certain what will happen – and of course, if there is popularity and demand it wouldn’t be surprising to see additional licensed products coming out. One nice thing about the current release is that NECA makes very good figures, so I’d expect to see great quality from this line.
