“The Wonder Girls” To Premiere on TeenNick February 2nd

K-Pop sensations The Wonder Girls and the teen pop act School Gyrls recently announced that “The Wonder Girls” will appear on TeenNick, which is Nickelodean’s 24-hour TV network.  The Wonder Girls and the School Gyrls announced the news from the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas where they premiered their video for “The DJ is Mine” featured in the hour-long TV special.

“The Wonder Girls” will give audiences a inside exclusive look into the adventures of the K-Pop act as they prepare for their U.S. debut. They stumble upon a talent competition at the legendary Apollo Theatre where they meet their new rivals the School Gyrls.

Fans will watch the plot unfold as well as performances from both sides, a little bit of drama and even a little romance hits the rivals.

“The Wonder Girls” will also feature cameos from J.Y. Park and TeenNick Chairman Nick Cannon, the Executive Producers of the special.

The music video for “The DJ is Mine” was filmed with Samsung’s 3D technology and will be embedded into new Samsung products and will feature Wonder Girls performances and scenes from the movie.

The special is set to premiere on TeenNick, the 24-hour TV network exclusively for and about teens and tweens. TeenNick’s distinct perspective connects its audience to the electricity and possibilities of teendom, anytime and anywhere, with original series and ever-popular favorites.

The Wonder Girls (Yenny, Yubin, Sun, Sohee, Lim) are from South Korea and are quickly becoming stars in the Western World.  They are the first Korean act to have a song enter the Billboard Hot 100 chart, the Wonder Girls have already opened for two of today’s hottest musical acts: opening more than 50 North American shows for the Jonas Brothers and supporting Justin Bieber.

The hit song, “Nobody” hit the Billboard’s Hot 100 in October 2009 and quickly became an international phenomenon. The dance for the song also became a viral sensation with countless YouTube videos of fans hitting the web.

the Wonder Girls have appeared on Fox’s “So You Think You Can Dance” and in  2010 the Wonder Girls took on their first North American tour, which hit 20 cities in the U.S. and Canada.

In 2012, the Wonder Girls will release their debut English language album.
