The 84th Annual Academy Awards Poster was finally unveiled by The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. This year, the Oscars will be live on Sunday, February 26 2012 on ABC. The coverage will start 7:00 pm eastern standard time/4:00 pm western standard time.

The famous Oscar statuette is shown conspicuously in the poster. This year’s poster also features small bubble-like circles, seven of which features movie scenes from previous Oscar winners like “Forrest Gump” starring Tom Hanks, “The Godfather” starring Marlon Brando, “The Sound of Music” starring Julie Andrews, “Gone with the Wind” starring Clark Gable and Vivian Leigh, “Driving Miss Daisy” starring Morgan Freeman and Jessica Tandy, “Giant” starring Giant, “Gladiator” starring Russell Crow, and “Casablanca” starring Humprey Bogart.

I think this year’s poster for the 84th Annual Academy Awards is very attractive. It makes a nice tribute to the legendary movies, actors, and actresses from the past. The poster emphasizes some of the best movies ever made. “Gone with the Wind,” “Casablanca,” “The Sound of Music,” and “Driving Miss Daisy” are excellent movies. This movies are classic and will be watched again and again. The first Academy Awards were given out in 1927. In 1935, Bette Davis nicknamed the awards , Oscar, and she also won an award for her movie Dangerous.
