The Civil Wars’ Reveals More Work on The Hunger Games Soundtrack

Jan - 31 2012 | Sarah Peel | 1 comment

The Civil Wars attended the Sundance Movie Festival for another movie they helped score, but the real attention was placed on The Hunger Games. HitFix caught up with John Paul White and Joy Williams to talk about their work, which of course brought up their song with Taylor Swift. They confirmed that they did more than just work with her in the interview. You can find out what they had to say around the 4:25 mark to learn what I mean. You will catch the video at the bottom of this post.

I am happy to hear that they are so attached to such a big project. It will certainly help them get their own name out there much more and maybe lead to more success. However, I do wonder why it took them so long to talk about this? You would think that their label would want to milk this news for its worth. Or at least that is what most labels would do, I think.

How do you feel about this news? Is it good or bad for the movie? I honestly can only see good coming out from it. We should expect that they would have a unique take on the music for the movie. We know that Summit Entertainment did that with the Twilight saga and I don’t recall anything big along the Harry Potter. So it is a tad surprising, but in the good way of course.
