Selena Gomez Reaches Billboard’s Top 100 Hits of 2011

Selena Gomez has finally crossed over into mainstream pop music. Billboard has listed her hit single, “Who Says?” as #78 in their Top 100 Singles of 2011. This is a huge honor for her as her first album that has gained major media attention outside of Disney. So far, Selena has not said anything regarded about the honor, but hopefully she will in the near future.

This is great news for her. But I am wondering what this year will bring for Selena. It seems like she has been so busy last year and released so many hit songs, it is hard to see where she will take this album next? I would think the next logical choice would be to head back to the studio and finish up her tour. While we do know that she is going to do an international tour, it would be nice to hear that she is also plans to enter the studio again.

How do you feel about thus honor? Does she deserve it or not? I think that she does deserve it since she has worked so hard to shed that Disney image in a good way. So she certainly has carved out her place, but I am worried that she might lose that track if she doesn’t go back to the studio soon. She seems to have been releasing an album per year and it worked out well for her. I would hate to see her lose that drive.

She totally deserves it. She has worked really hard for her success but she should slow down so she doesn’t overwork herself.

  2. Jessica says:

I hope she does another tour I live her music and I bet everyone does too

  3. Hey there BSCKids,

Sorry to have to point this out but there is a minor error in your post. The album “When The Sun Goes Down” is still a Disney album since it was distrubuted by Hollywood Records which is owned by Disney. In our thoughts Sel is still with Disney as long as she is under contract with Hollywood Records.

We know this Hollywood Records and Rock Mafia thing gets confusing to people but Rock Mafia at this time is not a record label and are only a group of producers that write and the record the material for the artists. Putting out the record is still in Hollywood Records deptartment.

We thought we would clear that up for your readers. Please don’t grt mad at us as we are just trying to help out.
