Nina Dobrev is Not Engaged to Ian Somerhadler

Nina Dobrev has come out to squash rumors about her and Ian Somerhalder’s relationship. Apparently, some people were claiming that the couple has become engaged, despite of the lack of ring or other “proof”. So she contacted Access Hollywood to clear up the rumors, while Ian said that if he did propose the world would know. However, here is the much more laid out answer from Nina about her plans and current goals for the time being as a response to the new rumors.

(The story is) not true at all… (I would) be wearing a ring if I had one… (Getting married young is) not my (style). I’m young. I’m really young. It’s not like back in the day where you have to get married and have your children by 18. I’m a career woman and a young, very driven woman, and I’ve got a lot I have to accomplish before I settle down and have kids and do any of that.

I think her comment is very well spoken. While I think marriage age is really a personal choice, I do agree with her that she does not need to get married right now. Yes, Ian is older and he might be seeking to settle down. But if they are to get married in the future, they should wait until they no longer work together, otherwise that would be way too much time being spent with each other. So they are wise right now to enjoy their company and keep working towards their relationship.

Do you think they should get married or not? I cannot really say since none of us know them. But I do think that as long as they are happy together they should stick with each other. However, I do wonder how it is going since they work with each other and still manage a loving relationship. If they could share some tips or such, that would be amazing.
