Kristen Bell & Julianne Hough Pack Jean Donations for Teens for Jeans
DoSomething has teamed up with Demi Lovato for a PSA for their annual Teens for Jeans. Now, they have have held a big volunteer event with Aeropostal, hosted by Kristen Bell and Julianne Hough helped pack jeans for homeless teens. This event kicked off the month long event to raise jeans for those who are in need of them. You will find the full press release from the event down below.
I am happy to see that they want to help out the homeless. We need more charities to help them and it seems like a good idea to start with the teens. Hopefully they will keep that up as they go into adulthood and expand the charity for kids and adults as well. Teens are not the only ones who wind up in need and I think we need to teach that to people as well.
How do you feel about their charity work? I like it and I am glad to see that they are still hosting these kinds of events. You don’t hear much about Kristen or Julianne as of recently, but it is great to have such good news to write about them. The fact that they took time out for the charity proves that they think about more than themselves and I love that. I hope that we will hear some more about this great project as it goes on until mid February.
DoSomething.org and Aéropostale, Inc. (NYSE: ARO) celebrated the kick-off of the 5th Annual ‘Teens for Jeans’ campaign on Tuesday, January 10th with the help of some of today’s hottest celebrities. Hosted by Kristen Bell, the event was held at Palihouse in West Hollywood. Also on hand to walk the denim carpet and support was Damien Fahey (MTV VJ), Chris Galya (Jesse), Julianne Hough (Footloose), Mark Indelicato (Ugly Betty), Josie Loren (Make It or Break It), Brendan Robinson (Pretty Little Liars), Julianna Rose (Lazy Town), Jake Short (Shorts), BooBoo Stewart (The Twilight Saga), Fivel Stewart (Logan), Billy Unger (Lab Rats), Michael Yo (E! Personality) and more.
During the event, celebrities and teen supporters packed up jeans that were donated to a local L.A. area homeless shelter along with letters, photos and videos with words of encouragement.
To kick off this year’s campaign, Aéropostale donated 1,000 brand new pairs of jeans to be packed up during the event in addition to the 10,000 brand new pairs of jeans that they are donating to youth shelters around the U.S.
