Justin Verlander Picked for MLB 2K12 Cover

Adam Larson was hired by 2K Sports to design 3 custom covers for the upcoming video game, Major League Baseball: 2k12. For one of the covers he picked Detroit Tiger’s player Justin Verlander. The pitcher has broken the record of the American League’s A.L. MVP (first record was set by Denny McLain) for is 24 victories. They just released the artwork for the game, but it has set ablaze to both the sports and video game world alike. It is also rumored to be the possible last game to come out in support of the classic gaming console, Sony PlayStation 2. The game will be released on March 6th, and is available for pre-order.

This is exciting news for his fans and fans of the game. For him to be picked to represent the game is an honor that I would think most athletes would want. Yet Adam chose him for his amazing record, which really does speak for itself in more than one way. I personally want to know what his reaction was when he first found out of this news. On the other side of this report, it is sad to see that the PS2 may be near the end of their support line for new games. I am hoping that this will either change or turn out to not be true just because the console is still a top seller.
