James Newton Howard Confirms Writing Hunger Games Score

Jan - 25 2012 | Sarah Peel | 1 comment

James Newton Howard has a big job ahead of him and he recently talked about it with Go See Talk. The Oscar nominee confirms that he is the composer for The Hunger Games. He talks about working on it and how different it is to work for a movie that has a huge fan base already in place. The video is long, but you can fast forward to 11:43 and 13:45 for the tidbits about Hunger Games.

At least we know what we can expect for the movie’s score. It seems like we all were curious to know who got to wight the music for an action packed movie. I personally expect some of it to be more slow or dramatic for some scenes. That would seem to fit the plot line and also help build excitement in my opinion at least. I do wish we would find out more about it, but I suppose we will have to wait until next month or early March for more info.

How you excited to hear what he came up with? I am, but I do think that we can trust him. He is an Oscar nominated composer, and that means he must know what he is doing. Maybe we will get a glimpse at his music in an upcoming clip or trailer. We can only hope for that now, at the very least!
