Home Depot Plans On Hiring 70,000 Employees

Home Depot recently made an announcement that they plan to hire 70,000 seasonal workers for the upcoming spring. The store wants to hire extra people for their busiest time of the year. People do a lot of home and garden renovations during the spring months.

If people are interested in a Home Depot career, they can apply on their official website. Most of the jobs are temporary positions only but this hiring spree will help stimulate the nation’s economy. The hiring process will pick up in the next few weeks. Tim Crow, executive vice president for Human Resources, said “Temporary positions can lead to permanent jobs Close to half of 2011 Home Depot seasonal employees went into permanent positions such as cashiers, sales associates, lot and garden associates.”

I would hope that Home Depot would train their employees in some knowledge of home improvement and gardening. Sales associates also need some knowledge to help customers find the best choices for their projects. Home Depot’s seasonal hiring is a good idea for people who are unemployed. There are so many people who are so discouraged that even seasonal employment would give a boost to their confidence. It also would make their employment record look better.
