Bad Kitty by Nick Bruel Read by Vanessa Williams

I have three children and my older just turned 8 and his favorite author is Nick Bruel and the Bad Kitty series. So as any family knows that means child two and child three both love the Bad Kitty books as well. My other son is 6 and he is just starting to read so he is always asking his older brother what some of the words in the book are and will ask my older son to read the book to him. My younger daughter, 2 years old, just picks up the book and says “read, read, read” to either her older brothers or to us when we are cooking dinner, cleaning or any of those other things that you need to do to keep the household running. Well now we have another option for the children to get their fill of Bad Kitty and all the adventures. A CD comes with this package that has a few different tracks on it to keep your kids interested.
Vanessa Williams does a great job on two tracks. One being read where you can just listen to the story or if you are a bit older follow along. The second track though is the favorite of children 6 and 2 where you get a Bad Kitty “meow” when you need to turn the page while you read along. I really like the fact that they not only read the words but also any words in the background of the story as well. It makes it feel a lot more like someone is there reading with you.
My older son really enjoyed the fact that there was a track where Nick Bruel reads the book. He really loves the books and it was exciting for him to hear the author. He said, “That is the person that wrote Bad Kitty talking? That is so cool.” You can never have too much Bad Kitty in any form, written or audio!
From the creator of the New York Times bestseller Boing! comes the riotous story of a cat gone berserk — four times over and in alphabetical order each time. Kitty is not happy when she’s told that her favorite foods are all gone and all that’s left are Asparagus, Beets, Cauliflower, Dill…and 22 other equally unappealing vegetables. So she: Ate my homework, Bit grandma, Clawed the curtains, Damaged the dishes, and so on, through Z. Only when tastier things arrive (An Assortment of Anchovies, Buffalo Burritos, Chicken Cheesecake…) does she Apologize to Grandma
