Selena Gomez To Star in New Movie

Rumors were swirling a while back that Selena Gomez would be starring in a new movie has been confirmed.  Selena is set to star in Spring Breakers alongside Vanessa Hudgens, Emma Roberts and James Franco.

Spring Breakers is a movie about four college students who rob a restaurant to pay for their spring break trip, and the scamming drugs and arms dealer with whom they get entangled.  The movie will begin filming sometime in the new year and will be a more mature turn for the former Disney actress and singer.  James Franco will play a drug and arms dealer who helps the girls when they get caught by police and agrees to bail them out if they will go and kill his arch-enemy.  Emma is is talks of playing a Southern girl who has a taste for danger and loves the thrill. Selena would play a religious girl, who is less of a thrill seeker and is more timid then the other girls.

It is certainly a different role for both Vanessa and Selena, but Vanessa has already delved into a more riskier roles.  What do you think?  Will you check out the movie when it is released?
