Greyson Chance Encourages Young Musicians

Greyson Chance may be young, (only age 14!) but he is already a musical sensation  that has taken YouTube and the rest of the world by storm. And now, he is giving other young musicians the chance to make their dreams come true.

Greyson is launching his “Find Your Voice” Facebook Contest.  Greyson has teamed up with Yamaha and Music & Arts (a national music retailer dedicated to serving students and schools) to give one lucky musician between the ages of 13 and 17 a chance to win some exciting prizes, including a trip to spend time with Greyson to learn about his start in the music industry, $2,000 towards a Yamaha instrument, a year of free music lessons, and a spot in Music & Arts advertising.

Any young artist or singer who wants to enter has until January 18th to submit a 3 minute video showcasing their talent. All you have to do is “like” the Music & Arts Facebook page. Fan voting will begin on January 31st, with the winner of the contest announced in early March.

You can also visit here for more information.

For inspiration, be sure to check out Greyson’s latest video for “Hold On ‘Til the Night,” the title track from his latest album, available now in stores and online.

I think this is a fantastic idea! And way to go for Greyson trying to help out those young performers who are just trying to get noticed. I think this is going to be a very successful contest as well.
