DreamWorks Release Poster for Rise of the Guardians

DreamWorks is working well ahead for their next project called Rise of the Guardians. The movie which is slated to come out on November 21st, 2012 has it’s first movie poster out. The movie which features Hugh Jackman, Chris Pine, Isla Fisher, Jude Law and Alec Baldwin to voice the main characters will be their next big animated movie. It is sort of a take on Hoodwinked, with 4 fairytale characters fight off an evil guy. This time those characters are the Tooth Fairy (Isla), Easter Bunny (Hugh), Jack Frost (Chris) and Santa (Alec) as the heroes. They must fight off Pitch, the boogeyman (Jude). It is based on The Guardians of Childhood book series by William Joyce.

I am loving the idea of the movie. It sounds like it will be a cute one that the whole family will love. However, I am not sure about their pick of Alec. He seems to be so not child friendly and that might make some question their picking of actors. Excluding him, all the others seem like good choices for the movie. But I am personally going to wait until the trailer comes out to see just how it is different from the aforementioned movie.

Do you like the idea of the movie? It sounds cute, but I am not sure how this will be any different from some of the other similar movies. It just seems that they are copying something that somebody else did and that does not bode well with me. But as I stressed, I cannot really judge it fairly yet. So I suppose we will all have to wait until next fall.
