Canada Predicts The Hunger Games To Become Pop Culture Hit
Canada.com has joined the ranks of many other sites and social media to throw in their hats for what will be hot in 2012. Of course they included The Hunger Games, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson in two of the list but Jennifer Lawrence was clearly missing from their list. Even if she was excluded out of this one, her co-stars are being considered to be some of the actors to keep an eye on. And the movie is listed in the 12 pop culture predictions list. Here are the two lists and what had to say.
For the boys-
Liam Hemsworth
He’s currently best known as Miley Cyrus’s arm candy, but that will change on March 23, when the hotly anticipated The Hunger Games hits theatres. Hemsworth plays the hunky Gale, the heroine’s closest childhood friend and love interest.Josh Hutcherson
Also riding The Hunger Games wave will be Josh Hutcherson, currently best known as one of the titular kids from The Kids Are All Right. With The Hunger Games poised to become the next Twilight, expect the actor, who plays leading man Peeta, to take over Robert Pattinson’s position as Hollywood’s reigning tween catnip.
For the movie-
The new Harry Potter or Twilight? The Potter franchise is finished, and the end of Edward and Bella, in Twilight: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, looms on Nov. 16. Hollywood’s hopes for a new blockbuster franchise may rest on Jennifer Lawrence’s young but capable shoulders in The Hunger Games (March 23). Of course, the talented 21-year-old ingenue could act circles around the young cast members of those other franchises, so expect the fantasy series, based on the novels by Suzanne Collins, to deliver the goods.
It certainly looks like 2012 will be the year of The Hunger Games! However, I will say that I do agree with Jennifer about it not needing to be compared to other hit teen movies based off books. This one was very different, even dark if I have to say so myself. It just seems that they are setting it up to be something even bigger than it will, despite the fact that it is already pretty big to begin with,
Are you happy that the stars, novels and the upcoming movie are receiving so much love? I am, but I am not crazy about the comparing. The books speak for themselves and so does the movie; I personally do not see the need to make more competition. It just seems to doom everything in my opinion. I am hoping that next year the focus will really move on to the movie and less on competition. The books and the upcoming movie are worthy enough to talk about.

can’t wait for the movie, I know Jennifer and Josh will do a great job together as Katniss and Peeta. I know the books were good so the movie will be even better. Especially with the number one man the will become the next hottest guy in the world. LOL Love you Josh!
