Angry Birds Goes To The Playground

By on December 18, 2011

“Angry Birds” is extremely popular with a whole crop of themed merchandise that includes board game, stuffed animal toys, a cooking book, and an attraction in a Chinese theme park. Two towns in Finland, Rovaniemi and Espoo will receive the globe’s first official “Angry Birds” playgrounds next year. This was in a press release.

There was a global document signed by Lappset which makes playground apparatus. The business will produce 20 separate pieces of play and activity apparatus. Lappset will also make a ready-made playground named Angry Birds Magic Places. This equipment has spring rides designed for eight of the game’s characters. There will be four kinds of play towers with slides, a climbing wall, and a small house. There also will be a photo wall, sandbox, rope slide, ship, swings, a tunnel, and a giant slingshot.

Peter Vesterbacka(marketing chief for Rovio) said, “We will be developing a service which brings together the digital world and the physical world in a way that’s never been seen before. This sounds like Lappset has very big plans that include the Asian market. I wonder how many months a year children can play outdoors in Finland? And it is not clear if the U.S. or the rest of Europe will see Lappset’s playgrounds.
