X-Factor’s Ratings Go Up
Simon Cowell’s X-Factor had a shaky start, but they seemed to pull through it nicely. In fact, it put Fox in the top 10 on the networks for Wednesday. They pulled in with an 11.4 million viewers for the first elimination night of the series top finalist. While it has yet to reach number 1 (Modern Family came in as #1), being #8 is certainly an improvement for them. Simon might have found his footing and the show is likely to only climb higher in the ratings as it progresses.
I am going to be honest here, X-Factor really is not all that different than American Idol. I am not sure what Simon was hoping for with the show, but it certainly does not go over as well. Granted, it did take AI some time to reach number 1. But I think that show at the time was something new. Now we all love it and seem that it can still be that exciting. Just look at how well this year’s winner (Scotty McCreery) is doing?
Do you watch X-Factor? I have been meaning to give it a try, but I am concerned that it won’t be all that good. I think that a lot of these kinds of shows exploit those who are not the best at singing and I know Simon is very bad about that. So I am thinking alone those lines, that is what likely happened in the first few weeks. However, now that they are over the bump-it might be okay enough to give a try. I just hope that have some real talent on the show, like American Idol did this year.

X Factor is not the same as American Idol. AI looks to find the next American Idol. X Factor, on the other hand, is in search of the next International Pop Star – big difference, don’t you think? The final acts on X Factor right now are far ahead of any AI contestant you’ve ever seen. So much talent, it’s crazy. X Factor on top of the International platform also offers a $5 Million dollars to the winner. And there are 4 different categories of singers on X Factor: the Groups category, boys under 30 category, girls under 30 category and the over 30s. Much cooler format than the generic AI. The biggest difference is that each of the four judges (Simon, L.A. Reid, Paula Abdul and Nicole S.) mentors the singers in the category they are assigned to. This is how AI should’ve been. Scotty McCreery is great, yet he lacks international appeal. X Factor is turning up the most amazing potential global superstars as we speak on this season’s show!! Which contestant do you love? Astro? Drew? Marcus Canty? Lakota Rain? Who??
The talent on X Factor USA is phenomenal. Watch it. You won’t be disappointed. Better than American Idol in my opinion.
