The Muppets Go Twilight In New Parody

Disney has gone a little nuts with their parodies that they have with the Muppets. However, with a little less than a week away from opening The Muppets Movie, they could not resist a Breaking Dawn parody. Unlike most of their other ones, this one is simply mocking their posters. As an example, they call it the “Muppet Saga” and have Bell a Swine. As you can tell from the posters, they were pretty serious about making sure the fans understood the parody. The posters copy very closely to some of the Twilight Saga older ones.

I am really surprised that they did not release a video clip of the parody. That is what we all would have expected and would have loved. The posters are cute, but they feel last minute. While the concept could have been last minute, I know that I do expect a much higher level of work from them. This seems to be pretty cheap of them ahead of the movie’s actual release.

How do you feel about the posters? I am typically a good sport about parodies, but I won’t deny that this one falls short. More effort could have been made than it was. A real clip could have made it a more rich idea and make the posters twice as good. However, it could also have something to do copyright and that might be part of the reason. I cannot forget to include that as a possibility, but that seems unlikely.
