Lauren Alaina Set to Sing National Anthem at Thanskgiving NFL Game

Lauren Alaina is getting ready to showcase more of her vocal abilities by singing the national anthem on the first game of the NFL’s Thanksgiving Day triple header.

The American Idol star will be opening the game between Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers.  Lauren will also be joined by NFL PLAY 60 youth ambassadors, who are involved in the organization’s in-school, after-school and team based programs.  Ever since the Season 10 finale, Lauren has been on quite the roller coaster.  She released her debut album Wildflower last month, which ended up hitting No.2 on the Billboards Top Country Album chart and No. 5 on the Billboard Top 200.  The 17 year old runner up to Season 10 to Scotty McCreery has become the youngest female artist to debut that high on the Billboard charts since LeAnn Rimes 1996 debut Blue.  Season finale of Season 10 concluded on May 25th and it was the first season that 15 year old’s could enter into the competition.  Other changes include online voting, extra rounds such as the Las Vegas and a final solo round and a return of the judges’ wild card choice.
