Jake T. Austin – Wizards of Waverly Place Did Not Change My Life

Nov - 29 2011 | Sarah Peel | no comments

Jake T. Austin caught up with Teen Vogue recently talking about his 2 new movies (New Year’s Eve and Tow Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn) and soon to be ending show. Jake shared that his life has remained the same through out the series and that he is excited for his future. But he will never forget those few years he starred on Wizards of Waverly Place. Here are his full quotes about this past summer and the show ending.

(on WoWP)We’re all excited for other projects. At the same time, we’ve got to remember what a cool experience working on that show was.. I wasn’t featured so prominently my life changed dramatically. I didn’t release an album or anything.

(on filming New Year’s Eve)It was cool to play a character that had a lot of truth to it. He meets Hailey [Abigail Breslin] on New Year’s Eve and has a thing with her. You gotta stay up & watch the ball drop!

Jake sounds like he has the right idea. But I will say that I do disagree with him on the fact that the show did not really change him. He was one of the show’s stars we saw grow the most. He started out as a smaller actor who played a role, and it ends with him being older. You could even argue that he perhaps is the smartest out of the 3. Despite of that, I suppose his real life did have the same effect as his 2 older siblings.

How do you feel about his comments? Do you agree that his life hasn’t changed much? I don’t, I think once you have been on a successful show it is hard to say that your life changed to the point where you do not know how it changed. That just cannot happen or be the case for any star, but he maintains that he feels that way. He is certainly entitled to feel that way, but it just seems to be pointless since his show was so successful.
