Hunger Games – Liam Hemsworth Talks Weight & New Jennifer Lawrence Photo Still

Vanity Fair has made a big to do about The Hunger Games. Now we have what Liam Hemsworth had to say to them about losing weight and his role in general. You can read the full interview at their website, but we will share a highlight from it down below. However, we also have a new photo of Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss showing off his skills with the bow. But let us get back to what Liam had to say.

VF: And how was the physical stuff?

In this one, for me, it was more about losing weight. He’s a pretty poor person.

VF: Right, you’re starving!

Everyone’s pretty hungry, so I wanted to look a little hungry. [M]y brother said to me before I started shooting—he texted me and said something about me putting on weight. But basically his point was that it was called Hunger Games, not Eating Games. That was a wake-up call. I was like, Are you calling me fat or something?

I get what he is saying, but he was never all that big. It is shocking to hear that he felt the need to go hungry for it. Method acting can do risky! However, I am going to applaud him for taking the role so seriously. It had to be so hard for him, but he did it and I think we can all say that he has to be a strong actor to be able to do that. I have a feeling he likely gave into his cravings when he was done shooting the movie.

How do you feel about this latest craze for the March 23 movie? I agree with Jennifer, but I also think that they have a strong chance in finding success with it. I may have not read the books, but I do think that the story did well with readers for a reason. I have no doubt that whatever the outcome for this movie is; it will be for the best for all of those involved.
