Goodbye Bella, Hello Katniss – Hunger Games Over Twilight

The Hunger Games

Twilight was once a hot book and movie that fans named their kids after. Bella was a very popular name all around, but she has been knocked off that throne. Hello to The Hunger Games based names! The new number one name is Katniss, which is a very unique name to pick. Of course, Twilight and Hunger Games are not the only books that people have named their kids after. Harry Potter‘s characters. Here is the list of other popular names based from books.

Atticus from To Kill A Mockingbird
Gatsby from The Great Gatsby
Eloise from Eloise
Darcy from Pride and Prejudice
Holden from The Catcher in the Rye
Rhett from Gone With the Wind
Esme from For Esme: With Love and Squalor and Twilight
Kairi from Kingdom Hearts
Zuzu from It’s A Wonderful Life

The list certainly shows some interesting names. Such as Kairi and Gatsby, which you do not hear often of. However, it is also a much needed fresh air from the over used names we so often see. Plus it is far better than Apple. I would love to see a bigger list. I am sure that these are not the only names and what those who name loves one from movie or TV characters? You know that it has to happen.

What do you think of these names? I can see naming them after Twilight and things like Rhett. But some of those names are so strange sounding. I would hate to see the kids being picked on. Then again, most kids are picked on for one reason or another. Still, I doubt that list is that small.

Um… Kingdom Hearts is a video game. There is a manga based on the game but it’s not very popular and as much as I love manga I don’t consider manga a book. And Kingdom hearts was a video game first anyways. Sorry if I sound picky you just should be more careful where you get your sources from.
