Selena Gomez Wants Perfume To Appeal To All

By on October 17, 2011

Selena Gomez has not released much info about her upcoming fragrance, but she has made a few comments about it. We know that she wants her fans input and for the campaign to be romantic. Now she admits that she wishes for it to attract a wide demographic. She does not wish for it to be marketed towards just her younger fans, and this makes sense for a 19 year old who is trying to branch out her career. Here is what she told Twist magazine.

I also want it to be sophisticated enough to appeal to a wider demographic. So I want the campaign to almost be just a pretty, beautiful shot that represents the fragrance—I don’t want it to be my face smiling in a big cheesy smile. I just want it to be captured in a very sophisticated way!

I think that it is great that she wants to have a wider demographic. She is also growing up and I am sure she does not want something that is so young smelling that she could not get by wearing it. I just hope that she will be able to expand her fashion line soon enough as well. I would love to see her expand her line much like Victoria Beckham has. I think that is something that would be wise for Selena to do.

Do you hope that she sticks with her fans base, despite of growing up? I personally think that she has been handling it pretty well, but I know some will disagree. I think that she has enough room to have two fan bases, and we need to remember that her own fan base is also getting older. I certainly do not see anything wrong with how she has grown up and is slowly still doing just that. I wish more past children stars would follow her footsteps on that level.
