Could The Simpsons Come To An End?

The Simpsons

“The Simpsons” no more? Voice actors and studio tussle over salaries. After surviving aliens, skate boarding hooligans, and living under the shadow of a nuclear facility for over twenty years, will Springfield be ruined by money troubles?

The studio that makes “The Simpsons” claims it needs to cut its budget or stop making new episodes after its current season, the 23rd. A Daily Beast reports that eight lead actors may leave over being asked to cut their $8 million salary almost in half. “23 seasons in “The Simpsons” is creatively vibrant as ever and beloved by millions around the world. We believe this brilliant series can and should continue, but we cannot produce future seasons under its current financial model,” 20th Century Fox Television said in a statement. “We are hopeful that we can reach an agreement with the voice cast that allows “The Simpsons” to go on entertaining audiences with original episodes for many years to come.” It is not the only time 20th Century Fox has wanted to cut salaries.

I think 20th Century Fox has probably lost advertising revenue. In order to keep producing “The Simpsons” a reduction in salaries is needed. At the same time, a reduction in salary isn’t good for the voice cast who made “The Simpsons” so popular and successful thus far. I wonder what the outcome will be.

I think that it is a shame that they are fussing over salaries for actors. Considering the simpsons have made over 8 billion in revenue since it has been on. Yet they want to cut the cast salary so supposdly they can keep making the eppisodes. Once again corperate america screwing people over
