The Lying Game Twinsense and Sensibility review

The Lying Game has just gotten a bit more exciting with “Twinsense and Sensibility.” Sutton is still seeking out her mom, while Emma is followed by Alec. Sutton was able to locate where her mother was living a long time ago–when the photo of Emma and their mother had been taken.  Sutton, along with Thayer, go to Fillmore and find the house, where they believe the girls’ mother died. Alec and Ted, however, confirmed that the mother is not dead.

Emma suffers a nightmare that haunted Sutton in the past. Sutton talks Emma into looking into her own memories, and later on she recalls something about a fire and stars. The nightmare leads Emma to ask Kristen if she knew what happened to her birth mother. Kristen admitted that she wanted to meet her, to thank her for all that she did, but Kristen did not say what happened. Later, she told Ted about what Emma asked, which upset Ted, who in turn told Alec. Sutton also reminds Emma that she cannot get used to being her, since Emma has appeared to get comfortable as Sutton.

While all that drama played out, Char was worried about losing her best friends, Sutton and Mads. This fear is confirmed when she finds out that Mads has a secret affair and when Emma take Laurel’s side in a fight about Justin. This pushes them further apart than they ever had been before. Nisha takes advantage of this and tries to break them apart. Laurel also claims that she was the one who stole Sutton’s laptop (she did not do it and only claimed that she did to help Ethan out).

Boy, did we get some big twists! Alec and Ted are certainly not dumb, but why are they hiding the truth? What other secrets are there that we have yet to learn? I love that the series has two stories going on at once. It keeps things busy without overwhelming either plot. It is also great how the stories work together so the show is less like a soap opera and more of a cohesive story. I do think this episode is also reminds us that Emma and Sutton are twins despite their different upbringings. They may have never known each other before now, but they still have that twin connection.

What do you think about this last episode?

  1. Yeah the twinsense thing was so weird. I couldn’t believe they said they shared a dream.
