The Carrie Diaries Coming To The CW

The Carrie Diaries will be coming to a television in the near future. Word is that the project is going to the CW and that it will be produced by the same producers for Gossip Girl.

The future television series will be based on Candace Bushnell’s teen book saga, which is essentially a prequel to her other popular book Sex and the City. The Carrie Diaries is all about the super cool Carrie Bradshaw when she was a teenager. Right now the casting for the show hasn’t been announced yet but people are speculating(okay…dreaming) that the cast could include Blake Lively, Emma Roberts, Selena Gomez, and Elizabeth Olsen.

I think its a great idea to turn Bushnell’s teen series into a small-screen show. Despite the fact the SATC was geared towards a more mature audience, the show’s characters(namely Carrie Bradshaw) influenced the lives of young women everywhere with their impeccable taste in fashions and oh-so-glamorous lives. I have a feeling that TCD will also gain a following of fans from all age groups. I personally can’t wait to hear more about this show like who’s gonna star in it and when are they going to start filming this series.

Another Selena Gomez show would be great. However, Musicians of Monte Carlo is in production. Maybe, in 2013 or 2014, when my interest fades away from Wizards (like it did with Drake & Josh and others) I’ll get to see another Wizards replacement, and then my interest will fade away from it, too.
